Coronavirus Update: May 8, 12:00pm

As of May 8, 2020, the ADPH updated their “safer at home” public health order. “Close-contact” businesses such as barber shops, hair salons, waxing salons, threading salons, nail salons and spas, body-art and tattoo studios, tanning salons, and massage-therapy and massage services will be allowed to open with additional sanitation and social-distancing restrictions on May 11, 2020. The additional restrictions are detailed in the following publications from ADPH:

Shops and salons are required to follow the guidelines in both publications.

Coronavirus Update: April 29, 6:00pm

Congresswoman Terri Sewell will be hosting a Zoom meeting tomorrow, April 30, at 6pm CDT, for barber and beauty/cosmetology professionals. She will have finance industry professionals that will provide information to beauty professionals on accessing federal, state, and local funding during this time. Coronavirus Update: April 28, 12:30pm

As of April 28, 2020, the ADPH issued a “safer at home” public health order. It extends the date that “close-contact” businesses such as barber shops, hair salons, waxing salons, threading salons, nail salons and spas, body-art and tattoo studios, tanning salons, and massage-therapy and massage services are closed until May 15, 2020 at 5:00 pm.

Coronavirus Update: April 3, 2020, 4:30pm

As of April 3, 2020, the ADPH amended the March 27th public health order to include a stay-at-home order effective April 4, 2020 at 5pm, except as necessary to perform “essential activities.”  Therefore, all barber shops, hair salons, waxing salons, threading salons, nail salons and spas, body-art and tattoo studios, tanning salons, and massage-therapy and massage services are CLOSED until 5:00pm on April 30, 2020.

2020.04.03 Order of the State Health Officer

Coronavirus Update:  March 27, 2020, 11:30 am

As of March 28, 2020 at 5:00pm, the ADPH has ordered that all barber shops, hair salons, waxing salons, threading salons, nail salons and spas, body-art and tattoo studios, tanning salons, and massage-therapy and massage services are CLOSED until 5:00pm on April 17, 2020 unless otherwise determined.

Effective at the close of business on March 19, 2020, all written and practical exam testing sites will be closed until April 30, 2020.
